Role
of the University
of Waterloo Survey Research Centre
The Research Data Centre is financially separate from the
UW Survey Research Centre. From the outset, however, it was
envisaged that the UW Survey Research Centre would play a
key role in promoting and helping the RDC. Thus mailouts for
the RDC user community are integrated into the SRC mailing
list, with many of the names common to both. A twice-yearly
printed communication with RDC news is included as part of
the SRC Newsletter. Talks, workshops and seminars for the
RDC and events more specifically for the SRC are integrated
so as to avoid scheduling conflicts and as a way to introduce
a wider body of researchers to the activities of the RDC.
