Description:

The geographic area canvassed by one census representative.

The number of dwellings in an EA generally varies between a maximum of 375 in large urban areas to a minimum of 125 in rural areas. An EA always respects higher level geographic areas recognized by the census, and is the smallest geographic area for which census data are available. There were 45,995 EAs in the 1991 Census.  The 1996 Census contains 49,361 EAs.

Datasets:

The Data are available in Arc/Info® Export format (*.E00), or in MapInfo® Format in the
Lambert Projection
or in the Latitude / Longitude Projection.
